A candle patiently drawn and animated by Qui AnXiong stands out in the darkness. The flame is fragile and seems about to vanish at any moment, condemning the image to blackness. Represented in a realistic manner, the candle reminds us of Vanity paintings, but also of some Gerhard Richter paintings. The animation shows the candle being consumed and illustrates the irreversible passage of time.
