My artistic work has led me to research into narrative forms drawn from film. the video installation THE_GATE_VALVE is an "interactive B movie." inspired by science fiction, and more ironically by video games, it is designed to immerse viewers in a post-industrial bucolic comedy sketch. The tableau - vivant (a kind of LCD altarpiece) -- is dark-hued; the conclusion of the script disastrous: a family picnic that turns out very nastily. In this exercise in figurative and musical editing deploying simple motifs, the viewers -- the driving force behind the events in the story -- participate in a composition at once random and open, but irremediably closed in on itself. it falls to each participant to find his or her role.
