La Juventud es una Isla blends documentary and fiction as it follows Yasse, a Cuban YouTuber facing the challenges of isolation and connectivity in a rundown Cuba. Through the lens of a mysterious camera-eye that captures every aspect of his daily life, Yasse grapples with the complex geopolitical realities that shape his identity. The film culminates in his poetic transformation, symbolising his quest for personal freedom and the revolutionary influence of technology on his existence.
