Renée is a ghost. She became one when she had to flee Thailand after being accused after publishing a Facebook post. Since then, that is, October 2022, she has been seeking asylum in France. Yet her refugee status is still to be processed and being a trans woman is further complicating the procedure. Therefore, without any legal and financial protection she wanders around Paris in a suspended state, missing her cats and looking for moments of connection. As viewers, we dive into her skin, substituting our eyes with hers, lighting our way through an iPhone. We experience her sense of fragile displacement as we become political fireflies. However, a profound desire to return home will be guiding us through the darkness.
