Born in 1988, Maia Flore works and lives between France and the United States. Her work has been exhibited in solo exhibtions (Esther Woerdehoff Gallery in Paris, Themes+Projects in San Francisco, Emmanuel Fremin in New York) and group shows (les Rencontres d’Arles, Paraty Em Foco in Brasil, Gextophoto in Spain). She won the hsbc photography award in 2015 and Actes Sud published her first monograph that same year.

“I dream of a machine that travels through time and space. Meanwhile, I photograph my body as an object of studying stages I set up and retouch as a possible trace of reenchantment. In a constant discussion with images, a picture that appears will make possible the next experimentation: re-begin and not begin again. Recently, I became interested in filming a choreographic process to understand the time and space I am bound to.”
