Benoit Martin was born in Paris in 1988, he studied cinema at the University of Rennes 2 and worked as an editor before joining Le Fresnoy - Studio national. He has directed numerous films in various genres and formats, experimenting with the combination of personal, fictional, documentary and found footage images.

As a musician, he composes with acoustic and electric instruments that he makes himself, hybridizing digital and analogue recording techniques.
